The Nando times - Major arms stash unearthed in Kosovo

PRISTINA, Yugoslavia (November 28, 1999 11:39 a.m. EST) - International peacekeepers of the Kosovo Force discovered a major stash of weapons in an abandoned house in the southwestern town of Rogova, spokesman Roland Lavoie said Sunday.

Italian troops discovered 10,000 rounds of ammunition, 300 grenades and 20 rocket-propelled grenades, as well as 200 detonators, fuses and explosives in the house 12 miles southwest of Orahovac on Saturday, said Lavoie.

KFOR also found three rifles and material for booby traps, said Lavoie.

Armed attacks are widespread in the Serbian province, where inter-ethnic violence and revenge attacks against Serbs after Belgrade's repression are common.

Since the province has been under United Nations administration, the ethnic Albanian rebel Kosovo Liberation Army has officially been demilitarized and turned into a civil force.,2107,500062432-500103242-500449790-0,00.html
