The Nando times - Release three KFOR soldiers who crossed into Serbia

PRISTINA, Yugoslavia (December 4, 1999) - Serbian police released three soldiers from the NATO-led Kosovo peacekeeping mission after they apparently strayed into central Serbia, NATO said Saturday.

The three, including two French soldiers and one Belgian, were arrested Friday afternoon when "they crossed into Serbian territory by mistake," the Beta news agency quoted French sources in the Kosovo town of Kosovska Mitrovica as saying.

The three were released at midnight after a meeting of a commission set up under a military agreement that ended the 78-day NATO air bombardment of Yugoslavia, NATO spokesman Maj. Peter Goethe said.,1024,500138243-500162067-500570870-0,00.html
